I know you are all busy, but on occasion I take a break from marking to think about more fun things…
Here’s what I know for now:
Savouries (this is not enough for dinner):
Coquilles St. Jacques (Mel-Lynda)
Cucumber sandwiches (Jaclyn)
Chestnut soup (Karyn)
Pita and homous (Russell)
Veggies and dip (Jessica)
Bread and spinach dip (Randi)
Desserts (this is enough):
Syllabub (Karyn)
Cake (Jess and Lucia)
Sherry triffle (Dani)
Chocolates (Karyn)
Further ideas for savouries (as this will be dinner for us all):
Bruschetta
Figs stuffed with goats cheese and wrapped in prosciutto (grill them here)
Hollowed round bread filled with artichoke cheese dip; bread cubes to dip
I hope this gives you all some ideas; here are some other recipes:

This just in from the Undergraduate Chair, Steve Collins:
We have been advised by Student Services that N grades will no longer be changed except in extenuating circumstances. If a student has missed work and has not contacted [the instructor], or indicated that they will not be completing missing work, that grade is an N and cannot be changed except with documentation (doctor’s note, etc.). If the student has been in contact with [the instructor] about incomplete work, and [the instructor] have some sense that they may be trying to complete their missing work, the grade should be entered as DE; it can then be extended if necessary for a second time, up to the end of the term after the course was taken. A regular DE grade will be automatically changed to an F at the end of the first week of the following term. … If the final grade is actually to remain an “N” then the student must repeat the course in order to earn a grade. … This policy came into effect in September 2009.

Date? 16? 17? I like 17 better, but I believe there was a reason it wouldn’t work… PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Email me if you can….
How are the fin-de-siècle or steampunk costumes coming? Have you seen the refreshments list? Let’s make this a party to remember!

You need only include your peer editor’s comments in the review grids, not mine. You still have to address mine, of course, just not document the process. Please include all comments that are not of a mechanical nature. If your peer editor wrote, for example, “I think this sentence could use some work; it is unclear,” please include it; if he or she wrote “dangling modifier,” or crossed out “got” and put “inherited,” for example, do notinclude it. Make sense?

What day did we decide? Either the 16th, Friday, or 17th, Saturday, work for me. I know we had an answer, but I can’t remember what it was… Please reply!
